Where to buy a used BMW bike in Germany ?

Sorry guys, I couldn't find any section for english speaking members. If I posted in the wrong area, please show me the right direction.

I'm looking forward to buy a used bike this spring , R1150GSA and I don't know where to look. I know about the "Gebrauchte Motorräder" section of bmw-motorrad.de , mobile.de and that's all. I've found some there but I was wondering if there are other websites with used motorcycle ads that I'm missing.

By the way , I'm Daniel from Romania. It would be nice if there would be a section for english speaking members too.

Hello Dan98,

finding your ADV from a BMW dealer the webside www.bmw-motorrad.de gebrauchte Motorräder gives you the best possiblity to find some. As your wrote, mobile.de as well.

You can also try with ebay, (www.ebay.de) you will find a selection of 1150 gs adv´s offered by private.

To place your enquiry in the cirle of gs-drivers wrote your enquiry either here within the www.gs-forum.eu within the corner "S'UCHE" or also
in the secound famous bmw forum www.boxer-forum.de "SUCHE"

You will find the SUCHE corner in each case on the first side fairly down.
Also take a view within BIETE or BIETE ECKE within the both pages, quite often sellers place here there adv´s firstly bevore they put them on other sides with costs e.g. ebay.

Dan98, within this forum you have the selection of two languages, german and bavarian. Not so bad, i would say.....

why pay fat margins to dealers

when you can get excellent machines from private sales? Germany is full of BMW bikes and many of these machines have never seen an off road track. BMW is a very expensive machine when you get it new - so the owners are often well off post midlife professionals, compensating for their midlife crisis with a cool bike.

I got my bike from a 50+ violin maker in cologne, who built in every possible extra feature for DESERT tours! And then he used the bike exclusively on German autobahn!!! I bought it for 30% of its new price incl. the extras. When I took it to Jordan, Israel and Syria I used some of the features for the first time.

I also got a lot of practically unused 2nd hand BMW equipment in Germany.

Maybe the guys there have these bikes just to look at them...

In short: Germany is a great place to get a BMW for a bargain price. Just don't waste your money on dealer margins.

I only read what I am interested in - the rest is silence. & there is quiet a lot of interesting stuff in here, in which language ever.
