Stebel Magnum Horns (Passt die unter den Schnabel einer BMW 1150GS?)
Summary: With a sound tone that is similar to the Fiamm Freeway Blasters, the Stebel Magnum horns have slightly less volume but also offer an authoritative tone.
We purchased the Stebel Magnum horns in England at Nippy Normans, who said they were rated at 139 dB, a figure that we now know is so off the mark that it's laughable.
The Stebel Magnum horns have a slightly higher pitch than the Fiamm Freeway Blasters; the high/low pair have claimed 500 Hz and 410 Hz frequencies, compared to the Freeway Blaster horns at 485 Hz and 405 Hz.
The factory claims 115 dB, but we measured only 81.9 dB at 2 feet away, a variance of -33.1 dB.
The Stebel Magnum horns somehow feel lighter than the Freeway Blasters, even though they're not; it may be that their shape makes them seem lighter.
The silver plastic cover on the back of the Magnums was unattached on one horn and loose on the other when we purchased them, and the horns overall seemed like they are built to lower quality standards than the Fiamm horns.
But they still sound pretty good, with a car-like tone. Mounting should pose about the same level of complexity as the Freeway Blasters.
Not much else to say about these, they would probably work fine if nothing else was available, but they just didn't make a big impression on us.
