CI hat ein (sich noch in der Entwicklung befindliches) Pad gezeigt, mit nativer BMW Wheel Steuerung. Soll um den April 26 herum auf dem Markt kommen.

Guter Bericht:
3,000 miles with the ultimate motorcycle nav kit

Habs mal bestellt und bin gespannt auch auf die WW-Steuerung.
Bisher BMW Cradle und 2tes Handy. Bei Sonne allerdings übel ablesbar.
Hoffe nun zukünftig bei 2200 nits besser.

Scheint solide robuste Hardware zu sein, aber auch stolzer Preis.
Navi-Apps ist natürlich ein Thema für sich. Aber da ist man ja frei.
Auch will ich autarkes Gerät, Handykopplung und Abhängigkeit wie bei Chigee und Konsorten nervt mich.

Exceptional power management
The supplied cradle mates to Caretta using 10 separate blades for power and data, making for a much more reliable and wear/vibration-resistant electrical connection than you get with pogo pins or USB, yet without having to faff about with screw connectors: just unclip the tablet when you want to remove it. This Carpe Iter has a direct 12V input with integrated voltage stabilisation and – most importantly – it has clever battery-bypass circuitry that means the tablet is powered straight from the bike, charging the internal 5,200mAh battery separately (though all internally and automatically). This is important as most other devices take power from their own internal battery while it’s kept charged, meaning that it can overheat and go into a power-saving mode or even shut down entirely. Caretta can operate between -20°C and 75°C, and while my phone failed while traveling in Spain, the Carpe Iter was absolutely fine even riding at 44°C.

Nein, ich habe es nicht, da ich mit dem v4 zufrieden bin.

Ich beziehe mich auf die ziemlich schlanke Konstruktion des Gerätes, die bei entsprechender Hitze, eher Mühe haben wird, selbige abzuleiten, vor allem bei stromhungrigen Apps wie DMD2.

Die von dir zitierte Konstruktionslösung klingt erstmal smart, muss sich aber erst beweisen. Vor allem im Stand ohne Fahrtwind.

Caretta montiert, erste Tour hinter mir. Endlich sehe ich was. Muss aber teilweise Helligkeit voll aufdrehen. Was aber sogar über das WW während der Fahrt machbar ist.

Leider sind die bisherigen rechten 4 Lenkerbuttons nicht direkt am Caretta anschließbar, andere Pins. Blöd.

The Caretta controller connector isn't used yet. We're working on a controller that will connect directly to the cable. Currently, the BMW Control needs it's own power form the BMW HUB - did you get one? Then, it connects to the Caretta via Bluetooth, just like to any other Android device.

D.H. geht erst mal zurück. Werde mir den Hub nicht kaufen und auf den neuen Controller warten. Sofern der irgendwann dann mal kommt. Da könnte man je nach Navi Apps Karte noch verschieben. Brauch ich nicht zwingend. Zoomen Karte mit BMW-Drehrad genial wie schon beim bisherigen BMW Cradle oder dem Navigator.

Apps wie calimoto, myroute und sygic liefen teilweise parallel. Gibt einen Splitscreen. Cool
